A method for designing a progressive addition lens, said method characterized by having a first primary line of fixation calculation step wherein a first primary line of fixation is calculated on the basis of lens design information that includes at least information about the accommodative power of the eye of the wearer while taking into account accommodative convergence arising from the use of the available accommodative power of the eye; and a final primary line of fixation determination step wherein a final primary line of fixation of the lens is determined from the first primary line of fixation.
