A method of a network node of a cellular communication network connectable to one or more wireless communication devices is disclosed. The method comprises (for each of one or more cells of the cellular communication network) transmitting a respective measurement configuration message to at least one of the wireless communication devices, wherein each measurement configuration message comprises an instruction that the wireless communication device should use a particular signal quality measurement method, the particular signal quality measurement method being selected from a group of available signal quality measurement methods comprising a first signal quality measurement method wherein measurements are made based on a first number of symbols and a second signal quality measurement method wherein measurements are made based on a second number of symbols. The method further comprises receiving one or more signal quality measurement reports from respective ones of the wireless communication devices, wherein each signal quality measurement report comprises an indication of a result of signal quality measurements performed by the respective wireless communication device.
