The shift control apparatus of a manual transmission includes: a shift lever 100 including a rod; a shift lock limiting the movement of the rod; and a controller which compares a speed of a vehicle with a predetermined critical speed of a predetermined gear and controls the shift lock. When the speed of the vehicle is greater than the critical speed, the controller prevents down shifting into a predetermined gear.
