The array substrate includes gate lines and data lines defining a sub-pixel array, which contains sub-pixels of three different colors and includes repeating units, each of which includes twelve sub-pixels arranged in a matrix of four rows and three columns; in each repeating unit, three sub-pixels in a same row or column, among nine sub-pixels in three consecutive rows, have colors different from each other, three sub-pixels in the other row than the three consecutive rows of the repeating unit are arranged in the same order as three sub-pixels in a middle row among the three consecutive rows; each gate line is connected to a corresponding row of sub-pixels in the sub-pixel array; and each data line is connected to sub-pixels of a same color in corresponding three consecutive columns of sub-pixels in the sub-pixel array.
