In illustrative embodiments, a plate-shaped leakage structure is provided as an insert in a magnetic core, which is passed through, along the thickness direction thereof, by at least one spacer having a very low magnetic permeability (as opposed to the rest of the material of the leakage structure). In a magnetic core according to an aspect, core legs are arranged above opposite bearing surfaces of the plate-shaped leakage structure, the plate-shaped leakage structure providing a leakage path between the core legs.
