An embodiment provides an electronic device, including: a wireless communication unit; and a processor operatively coupled to the wireless communication unit; and a memory that stores instructions executable by the processor to: scan and acquire wireless device signal data; determine, based on the wireless device signal data, that the electronic device is within a preset range of a wireless device; and determine a geographic position of the electronic device based on the electronic device being within the preset range.
