The method includes a processor determining characteristics of one or more customer workloads to be incorporated into a customer-like test workload; determining one or more data points for environment and workload comparisons; collecting customer environment, workload, capacity and performance empirical data; developing a test workload; conducting historical and run-time workload profiling of the one or more customer workloads and the developed test workload; and determining that the developed test workload meets one or more customer workload attainment goals.
