A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a method for presenting in a graphical user interface a plurality of associable three-dimensional (3D) actions and a plurality of accessories having distinct operational functions, receiving a request to associate one of the plurality of 3D associable actions with an input function of a select one of the plurality of accessories, associating the 3D action with the input function of the selected accessory, monitoring the selected accessory for a stimulation of the input function, and transmitting the 3D action responsive to detecting the stimulation of the input function.
