A walking type winding machine includes a front protection ring being fixed on a steering part and a steering counting device. The steering part includes a second sensor which is supported by an elastic component such that the second sensor is movably installed on the steering part, and the second sensor is used for sensing the backward movement of the frame of the steering part with respect to the second sensor. The walking type winding machine makes the control of a film winding path become simple and accurate, and it can protect important components of the steering part, improve walking steering sensitivity, and mitigate the impact on the machine body when colliding with an obstacle.
