In an embodiment, a method for operating a Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver involves detecting phase information related to a CAN data frame that is transmitted by the CAN transceiver and in response to the phase information, switching between different transmitter configurations of the CAN transceiver within a bit interval for use in transmitting subsequent bits of the CAN data frame.
