A communication link between a first device and a second device is established in accordance with a transmission control protocol for transmission of a data packet between the first device and the second device. The communication link is monitored during transmission of the data packet from the second device to the first device. Based on the monitoring, at least a portion of a bandwidth available for transmission of an acknowledgement from the second device to the first device is adjusted. The acknowledgement indicates receipt of the data packet performing by the second device.
