The scanning system executes a first process of scanning a document without first user authentication by the scanner, and storing the generated scanning data in storage; a second process of, when second user authentication is executed, identifying the scanning data to process from the scanning data stored in the storage; and a third process of processing the scanning data to process based on settings related to the user authenticated by the second user authentication.
