The present disclosure provides for receiving at least one message over a network by a mobile device; transmitting the received at least one message to a vibrotactile device configured to be worn on the skin of a user; converting, by the vibrotactile device, the transmitted at least one message into a predefined vibration pattern; and effecting the predefined vibration pattern onto the skin of a user by at least one actuating element of the vibrotactile device.
