The apparatus may receive, at a first location in a downlink signal, preemption information that identifies a second location of a first type of traffic that preempts a second type of traffic, the first location relative to the second location being based at least in part on a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) configuration of the UE. The apparatus may receive the first type of traffic at the second location. The apparatus may generate a HARQ response associated with the first type of traffic. The apparatus may transmit the HARQ response based at least in part on the HARQ configuration of the UE.
