The grinding chamber is connected to the collecting chamber via one or more openings. At least one comminuting device having at least one impact tool for comminuting the food leftovers is arranged in the grinding chamber. In addition, at least one mixing device for generating a movement in the food leftovers is arranged in the grinding chamber. A method for disposing of food leftovers is furthermore proposed.
