The data processing section turns off the power supply to the receiving section while maintaining an output state of the data output section for a known ineffective period, turns on the power supply to the receiving section prior to the start of an effective period, then detects starting information based on a predetermined code included in the serial data and establishes a receiving operation of the receiving section.
