A vehicle headlamp includes an excitation light source, a phosphor, a scanning mechanism which includes a reflecting mirror configured to be swingable and which is configured to receive light emitted from the excitation light source on a reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror to scan light reflected on the reflecting surface toward the phosphor, a projection lens which is configured to transmit therethrough light emitted from the phosphor to form a light distribution pattern, and a condensing lens which is configured to condense the light emitted from the excitation light source onto the reflecting surface.
