The first polarizer includes a first absorption axis. The second polarizer is disposed opposite to the first polarizer. The second polarizer includes a second absorption axis parallel to the first absorption axis. The first substrate is disposed between the first polarizer and the second polarizer. The first substrate includes a first alignment layer having a first alignment direction. The second substrate is disposed between the first polarizer and the second polarizer. The second substrate includes a second alignment layer having a second alignment direction. The second alignment direction is parallel or anti-parallel to the first alignment direction. The display medium layer is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
