A number of symbols for an uplink control channel can be determined in response to ascertaining a lack of a valid dedicated uplink control channel resource configuration. A downlink message can be received. The downlink message can be based on a device identity of the device. A HARQ-ACK feedback can be transmitted on the uplink control channel using the determined number of symbols in response to receiving the downlink message.
