A door handle device includes: a base member having a first shaft portion or a first bearing portion formed on one end side thereof, and having a guide hole which has a restricting portion projecting into an inner space formed on the other end side thereof; a handle grip having a second bearing portion which rotatably supports the first shaft portion or a second shaft portion which is rotatably supported by the first bearing portion on one end side thereof, and having an inserting portion advanceable into and retractable from the guide hole formed on the other end side thereof; and a slide guide having a slide contact portion which is brought into slide contact with the restricting portion.
