The authentication method includes: receiving an enterprise authentication request, wherein the enterprise authentication request comprises to-be-authenticated enterprise information of an enterprise, to-be-authenticated identity information of a legal representative of the enterprise, and auxiliary authentication information; performing a first determination of whether the to-be-authenticated enterprise information matches with enterprise information stored in a first database; performing a second determination of whether the to-be-authenticated identity information matches with legal representative identity information stored in a second database; sending an obtaining request to a client device for auxiliary legal representative information according to the auxiliary authentication information; performing a third determination of whether the to-be-authenticated identity information is authenticated based on the auxiliary legal representative information; generating an enterprise authentication record if the first determination, the second determination, and the third determination are affirmative.
