The gamma reference voltage generator includes a timing control module; a programmable gamma chip, which is electrically connected to the timing control module; and a multiplexing module, which is electrically connected to the timing control module and the programmable gamma chip. Independent control of gamma reference voltages of sub-pixel units of the liquid crystal display device can be achieved, by means of which display quality of images can be improved.
