A seat rest may be configured to support the posterior of a user, a leg rest may be configured to support a leg portion of a user, and a combined translate-and-cant reposition carriage may be configured to simultaneously translate and cant the position of the leg rest in relation to the position of the seat rest. The seat rest, leg rest, and combined translate-and-cant reposition carriage may comprise an equipoise balancer for a user. The equipoise balancer may be free-floating, lockable, partially lockable, seat-rest driven, or leg rest driven in various embodiments.
