In addition, the liquid ejecting apparatus further includes a suction mechanism, and the medium supporting unit includes, at the upstream side, a recessed portion sectioned by the first ribs, the recessed portion including a suction hole for causing a suction force by the suction mechanism to be applied onto the sheet.
