An embodiment of a semiconductor package apparatus may include technology to determine one or more filtered memory locations of a memory, determine if a read access for the memory corresponds to the one or more filtered memory locations, and return a pre-determined filter value as a result of the read access if the read access is determined to correspond to the one or more filtered memory locations.
