In an embodiment, a method of forming a plastic assembly comprises forming an anisotropic bonding element comprising a layer comprising a bonding element matrix without elongated members, a layer comprising a bonding element matrix comprising elongated members, and a layer comprising a bonding element matrix without elongated members; attaching the anisotropic bonding element to a structural element and a thermoplastic element, wherein the anisotropic bonding element is between a thermoplastic element second surface and a structural element first surface.
