The application switching method includes: detecting a touch pressure value that is generated by a touch operation when a target region of a touchscreen is touched; when detecting that the touch pressure value is greater than a preset threshold, generating a first display window in a current display interface of an electronic device, and presenting a first application in the first display window according to a preset rule; and switching the current display interface to a display interface of the first application if detecting an enable signal for the first application, where the current display interface is different from the display interface of the first application.
