The image reading portion reads an image from a document sheet. The image forming portion forms an image on a sheet. The detection processing portion detects whether or not a speaker that is provided outside the image processing apparatus is in an output state. The operation restricting portion restricts an operation of the image processing apparatus when the detection processing portion detects that the speaker is in the output state.
