The control device for controlling the HEMS includes a communication unit configured to receive energy management information comprising a photovoltaic (PV) power generation amount, a power consumption amount of a home appliance, a remaining power amount of a battery of an electric vehicle (EV), and a minimum charging amount of the EV from a gateway of the HEMS, and a control unit configured to control power of the battery provided in the EV so that the EV operates in one of a charging mode and a discharging mode on the basis of the energy management information.
