The method can include receiving data characterizing a first portion of a magnetic field, a second portion of the magnetic field, and a speed associated with a second sensor that acquired the second portion of the magnetic field. The method can also include discriminating, using the received data, a defect in a pipe as one of internal and external. The method can further include providing data characterizing the defect as one of internal and external.
