A homography transformation is applied to a captured pattern image obtained as a result of an imaging unit capturing an image of a predetermined structured light pattern projected by a projection unit, and using the captured pattern image with the homography transformation applied to detect corresponding points between the projected image projected by the projection unit and the captured image captured by the imaging unit.
