The laundry washing machine has a washing basket, a feed lid and a mechanical impeller. The impeller has at least one intake opening and at least one outlet opening, the outlet openings being peripherally placed on a circumferential edge of the impeller. The washing basket has a housing recess defined by an upper plane and a lower plane; and the impeller is mounted in the housing recess, so that the outlet openings are placed above the top plane of the recess.
