Advantageously, the airbag and the roof liner extend at least into the region of a vehicle rear-side and/or a vehicle front-side vehicle pillar, wherein the roof liner is adjustably mounted on the vehicle body toward the vehicle interior at least in the region of the relevant vehicle pillar in such a way that in the region of this vehicle pillar, the roof liner opens up both a first exit region from the storage space toward the bottom of the vehicle and a second exit region from the storage space toward the top of the vehicle for the airbag deploying as a result of propellant gas pressurization.
