The electronic device may receive user activity information including information of content, which is currently being played or has been previously played in the electronic device, from a content provider (CP) server through an internet of things (IoT) server when one or more external electronic devices are discovered and may display a first UI for recommending playing the content, which is being currently played or has been previously played in the electronic device, through at least one of the one or more external electronic devices on the display, based on the discovered one or more external electronic devices and the list of the external electronic device.
