The present disclosure provides a method for controlling a user equipment (UE) context and a UE connection, which includes: a first node obtains resume requirement information of a UE; the first node determines whether to resume the UE context, and/or, the UE connection, based on the resume requirement information of the UE. By adopting the present disclosure, overheads of signaling resources are reduced effectively, and resource utilization is improved.
