Provided are a method of driving a display device and a display device in which occurrence of flicker can be suppressed, in drive of the display device for which any one of a high frequency drive and a low frequency drive can be selected, if a power supply voltage difference between a drive power supply and a cathode power supply in a case where the display device is driven in the low frequency drive is smaller than a power supply voltage difference in a case where the display device is driven in the high frequency drive.
