The apparatus includes a satellite navigation receiver designed to receive satellite signals, a sensor designed to capture a motion parameter of the vehicle, and a processor designed to generate a V2X communication message, wherein the V2X communication message indicates the motion parameter of the vehicle, and to determine the geographical position of the vehicle by the satellite signals in response to an initiating of the generation of the V2X communication message.
