The sending unit sends information about a first emission amount lower limit value that is settable by the image pickup apparatus as an emission amount lower limit value to the image pickup apparatus in a case where the receiving unit receives the request from the image pickup apparatus in a first emission mode in which light is emitted at a time of photographing with an emission amount set by the image pickup apparatus in a case where automatic light control is performed.
