The present invention also provides for a process for preparation of amorphous dasatinib using dasatinib-butanediol solvate. The present invention further provides for the preparation of anhydrous dasatinib. The present invention also provides for a process for preparation of dasatinib monohydrate from anhydrous dasatinib.
