The processor determines in accordance with an original document image, which corresponds to the original document in the read image, which one of a first skew causing tilt in the original document image and a second skew causing distortion in the original document image occurs. The processor changes in accordance with a result of the determination, processing to be executed when the skew occurs in the original document image. The second skew may include distortion of the original document image and tilt of the original document image.
