Abstract:
A device for obtaining an electrical conductance reading from a patient includes a sensor head for contacting a patient's skin. The device includes a primary conductive tip positioned on the sensor head and an ancillary conductive tip positioned on the sensor head to contact a different portion of the patient's skin than the primary conductive tip. The primary conductive tip and the ancillary conductive tip are electrically isolated from each other. The primary conductive tip and the ancillary conductive tip are configured to contact a patient's skin when the sensor head is placed against the patient's skin to obtain independent measurements of electrical conductance.
