One apparatus includes processing circuitry that receives a media presentation description (MPD) file in which an essential property descriptor includes an attribute indicating uniform resource locator (URL) information for a session-based description (SBD) file. The SBD file includes one or more groups of key-value pairs. The processing circuitry receives the SBD file based on the URL information. The processing circuitry sends a request to a server based on the SBD file.
