The image processing apparatus includes: a communication circuitry configured to communicate with an external device; a storage configured to store data; an image processor configured to perform image processing; and a controller configured to perform an operation, through a neural network, on an image frame contained in an image received by the communication circuitry, to determine a type of the image based on information according to the operation through the neural network, and to control the image processor based on the determined type of the image.
