The display panel includes a first substrate including pixel electrodes provided in a display region, a second substrate including a common electrode, an electro-optical layer which is disposed between the pixel electrodes and the common electrode, and a sealing member that is provided in a sealing region along an outer edge of the display region and between the first substrate and the second substrate, and adheres the first substrate and the second substrate. When seen from a thickness direction of the first translucent plate, an outer edge of the first translucent plate overlaps the outer edge of the display region, or is positioned between the display region and the sealing region.
