An information processing apparatus receives time data obtained by a measuring unit from the image forming apparatus, classifies a plurality of time data received from a reception unit into a first group and a second group in accordance with a length of time, and determines using time data included in the first group and the time data included in the second group whether a position of the regulating plate is misaligned in relation to a reference position that corresponds to a size of the recording material accommodated on the accommodating unit.
