The method includes: displaying, by a terminal, target prompt information in a target interface of a client as a target scene is run on the client, the target prompt information being used for prompting the adjustment of the attributes of a virtual control object controlled by a player in the target scene; determining, by the terminal according to preset configuration information of the target scene, an adjustment mode of performing adjustment; and automatically adjusting, by the terminal, the attributes of the virtual control object in a case that the determined adjustment mode is an automatic adjustment mode. The embodiments of the present disclosure solve the technical problem that it is insufficiently flexible to adjust the attributes of a virtual control object in the related art.
