The invention relates inter alia to cosmetic compositions comprising an oligoester ammonium salt (OAS) and a cosmetically component (F), where the OAS is obtained by: (i) heating a mixture of the following components (a) to (d) under continuously removing of reaction water: (a) a certain a diethanolamine compound; (b) a certain dicarboxylic acid; (c) a certain organic triol; and a monocarboxylic acid of formula R1—COOH (d), wherein R1 is linear or branched C12-C24-alkyl; (ii) reacting the oligoester of step (i) with a quarternization agent.
