According to an embodiment, the display device may include a communication circuitry to receive first information on broadcast content and second information on an update of video on demand (VOD) content, a display, and a processor electrically connected with the communication circuitry and the display. The processor may be configured to display, on the display, an electronic program guide including a channel list including a plurality of channels, time information, and information on a plurality of programs based on the channel list and the time information, and display, when receiving second information associated with at least one program of the plurality of programs through the communication circuitry, the second information on an area corresponding to information of an updated program which is a program associated with the second information.
