The sole includes an upper sole, a fluid filled bladder coupled to the upper sole, and a plurality of recesses disposed between the upper sole and the bladder. The bladder includes a plurality of chambers extending below the upper sole. The plurality of chambers hold a fluid. Ambient air is disposed within the plurality of recesses between the upper sole and the bladder.
