According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the identifier of the terminal device for D2D communication may be generated based on the status information of the network and the terminal device. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the generated identifier may be meaningful to the network device and also may be unique for the terminal device. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the method may also be implemented in a M2M system.
